Hi guys,
My name is Adrian and I plan to start my own roofing company. I worked with so many companies and I'm tired of being the number 2 guy. I feel that my former bosses aren't as hungry as I am so to speak. I have this fire in my belly to make it. I've always been the hardest working guy I know and I am confident that if I translate that into my own business I would be unstoppable.
My question is starting out what was your first steps in starting your own roofing company? What were the challenges whether it was getting a crew together or money issues.
I just want to have a discussion of initail problems that can take place being an owner.
I want to deal mainly in flat roofing, it's what I grew up on and it's what I enjoy to do. Once I become bigger I'd like to have a shingle crew as well and yeah sure if I come across a shingle job I'll do it but my main focus is flat roofs.
What I plan to do since I am small time is to sub contract (new construction) now I know their isn't alot of money in this but I have to start somewhere and grow the company.. The work is small with lots of detail it is all torch work no insulation odv. The work is all balcony's and garages.
Please put in your two cents. I'm not afraid of criticism. I will take any advice given.
Thanks guys
Looks like you have a lot to do :-)
Start with a name, get it registered, register the business, get your tax number, get ur wcb number, get your liability insurance and finally get your name out to get jobs!
Good luck!
