Rather than finding a Trusted Pros Tile-setter, had a buddy helping with a shower tile install. He claimed to have lots of experience however things quickly went a little sideways after I left him completely unsupervised for a few hours and went to work.
After returning and seeing the result I couldn't sleep for 2 nights. After watching a YouTube video on how to properly install (going into the corners with the back wall to start) realized the install was not salvageable. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rgBFLqOAgw&t=181s
Because some go into the corner and others don't the alignment between rows is almost 1/2" off and very obvious. He used a 3/16" luxury lino as a spacer and in some cases there is almost room for 2 spacers (see photo). The tiles marked with the X are ones that for sure need to come off (13 if the 20 he installed). Problem is the tiles aren't separating very cleanly from the Widi panels. Wondering if an oscillating multi-tool might work; or any other thoughts?
