I have many ideas for my house renovation, I do not know where to start and I do not know if it is affordable what I want to do??
First the basement is half finished. I want to add a bathroom and a room. The entrance of the house with the stairs I want to change to hard wood instead of ceramic.
I do not know how much would cost me and what should I start with and what should I leave till next year.
I would get a hold of one of the General Contractors from this web site in your specific area.
Just make sure that they are licensed, bonded, and insured. Don't use a contractor that does not use invoices and wants to be paid in cash only. Cash is fine as long as the tax is charged and you get a receipt, otherwise there may be no recourse if something goes awry.
Also ask the contractor for references, including names and numbers of past clients. Also check if they have Better Business Bureau accreditation, it's not completely necessary, but it will show you if there were any problems in the past.
Hope this helps.
Good luck!
Thks Roberts for the tips.
This question are not easy to answer, I think if you are planing to rent the basement and generate income from it I would say start basement. If not then concentrate on the other projects.

Steve
Hello,
Professionally i would do the front entrance due to the fact that the conversion to hardwood would be cheaper than the basement the bathroom alone depending on were the plumbing and drains are could make things costly.
For the entrance you may spend depending on size anywere frome 2500$ to 3500$ like i said rough estimate depending on the type of hardwood etc.
The bathroom and other room could cost anywhere from 5000$ to 10,000$ depending on material plumbing and location.
