I have a ~200 yr old house- 1 floor. I need to get some ideas/estimates on expanding my basement/ crawl space. Excavation would be required.
Thanks for any input.
You need to do underpinning and You need structural Engineer and someone who is experienced with underpinning.
I have not seen the house but if it is 200 years old it may be time for a new build.
200 years old house might be a very old to do underpinning. You have to consult a structural engineer to access the situation and advice you of what possible to be done and might be non.
