Looking to possibly sub out some basement framing work in the not to distant future can anyone tell me what the going rate per/ln/ft is for basement framing?
Thanks
Hi,
On a new construction, contractors will go by the lin ft, as you know.
However, a basement suite would typically be assessed by a contractor as to how long it would take him.
It will depend upon how much work you have to get done, ,1 bedroom, 2 or three, how many bathrooms and kitchen ?
If I was you I would get three quotes, and see who you are most comfortable with. After all the guys going to be in your home for a while, so check out some references, and his insurance coverage. He should have a trades liability insurance in place.
Sorry, no firm numbers for you, but hope this helps.!
And remember, unless your general has a licensed electrician on board, they are not allowed to run any wiring. All renovations with electrical involved require a licensed contractor with the ESA (Electrical Safety Authority). Otherwise, in the event of an electrical fire, your insurance company could refuse coverage.
