There are many black stains (spots) on the white grout in between the ceramic tiles in the shower box.

I have used bleach and other cleaning products without any success.

How do I remove these black spots on the white grout.

Please give me the names of the products that I could buy from Home Depot.

Thanks

Hello,

Home depot sells a product called concrobium which is a mold/fungal cleaner. But you will have to clean the grout first with grout cleaner. Then use the concrobium to help fight the mold. If the shower has a door leave the door open after showering to help dry it out between uses.

First I would try Try Vinegar and Dish Soap (about 50/50), follow these directions (from web search): Heat vinegar in microwave until hot and pour into squirt bottle. Add the Dawn soap. Put the lid on and gently shake to incorporate. You now have a powerful cleaning product that will melt soap scum and tub and shower buildup, clean sinks, appliances and just about anything.

You can also try a acidic cleaner such as CLR. Do not use this regularly as it will deteriorate your grout.

Once free from soap scum and generally clean, you can use a coloured grout sealer to paint grout white and make cleaning more easy in future. Some popular brands are Mapei Grout refresh, Aquamix Grout Colourant.

Hello

I have used Muriatic Acid, diluted with great results, for many years. You need to wear a special mask, premium googles and have a lot of ventilation.

Here is 3 options; Visit your local Home depot store and purchase a bottle

1st option- and Grout Cleaner "Zep commercial Grout cleaner"

2nd option - Rejuvenate 950ml bio-enzymatic.

If you have a Lowes within your area i suggest this 3rd option- MAPEI Uc heavy duty stone, tile and grout cleaner. Please advise is a strong chemical. Please read instructions.

Wash the floor (and rinse several times) to remove all the built up grime.

Note** after cleaning the grout, avoid detergents and just use warm water. Always use the water sparingly;

Once the floor is thoroughly clean and dry, it might be wise to seal the grout joints with Grout Sealer. One light application using the trigger spray will seal the grout joints and make them water repellant and easy to clean for around five years.

Thanks
