I have a white sink and toliet. I have light to medium gray walls. I am getting a dark brown barn door, should my shelf be darn brown to match the door? Or white to match everything else?

Hey Meg I would go with a shelf that matches the door, it would bring a cool rustic feel to the bathroom and still be modern.

It's up to you. As a contractor I don't pick or recommend colors. I only apply the colours. That the customers pick

Are your appliances modern or standard?

What is the color and size of tiles on the floor.

Let me know and I will make a suggestion for you.

James

Shelf colour depends on a few things. Does the shelf material match either the door or sink and toilet. If it matches one of those I would paint it to match that. It also depends on whether you want the shelf to stand out or not. If not then I would paint it to match the walls. If its a smaller shelf you could always paint it white to match sink first, decide if you like that then go to the gray and decide if you like that then finially paint it brown if you weren't happy with white or gray. Hope this helps.

You want your barn door to be focal point or attention grabber in your home. I would suggest keeping all building products while your barn door be dark brown. Use dark brown or similar in your bath accessories such as your floor rug or your wall picture frames.

This will create the look you want!

Enjoy!
