How much should a bathroom renovation cost if I am buying all materials?
Typical 6x9 bathroom.
What all is being done to it? Full gut or toilet, tub surround and sink vanity face lift?
The walls are plaster so I am not sure if you need to break them down or if you can drywall over them. Then they need paint. Rest is take out and put new stuff in.
Due to the fact that every trade is required, electrician, plumber, carpenter/cabinetmaker, Drywaller, tilesetter...... and so on - you should budget s Minimum of 5000.00 labor - maybe more for extras like - full tile shower, Curbless shower entry, glass goors..... and so on.
Ok, great! Thanks
Hi Malina,
Yes your cost should be less, probably between 5 and 7K depending on how complex the prep work is. PLEASE keep in mind however, because a lot of people forget this part when they buy there own materials. The trades you hire are only responsible for installation and NOT any of the warranties you may have or think you have with any of your fixtures, plumbing, electrical, vanity etc. if they should break down or are found faulty.
Yes, thank you. I do understand that.
Such bathroom will cost you around $7000 building materials and labour.
Prices noted by others seem about right so long as you are using standard fixtures. The contractor will likely want to know/see the materials he will be required to install before he quotes on the labour.
That makes sense. Thank you. I wish I knew more about this stuff.
Hey, if you ever need a horror story written for some obscure reason, let me know. That's my area of expertise.
It could coat between 1000$-4000$ depending on material. If you go cheap 1500$.
