Best time for repairs?

Emma, traditionally outdoor work is best done when the weather is good. As to getting people, fence work is not high on most contractor's list of priorities. Having said that, I would suggest putting out the requests now and you may get some responses. Most contractors are "slower" between now and March. Take advantage of this time and get things done. Typically outside work is completed in the months of March until November. That being said, most carpenters work year round,however, you will typically pay a little more for work done outside during the winter months. Get yourself three or four quotes together and boom your project for spring.

Winter is the best time for fence repairs or installation for multiple reasons. Fence contractors see their demand drop off during winter, so it's easier to find contractors; also, the fence material required would be cheaper due to low demands. However, heavy snowfall, and harsh, windy, or rainy winters would make it difficult. So, get your repairs or installation done just as winter starts.
