Can EIFS stucco be painted, or can a second coat be applied to match colours?

All stucco can be painted. It is very pourus and stuff sticks well to it. Spill something on in and try to get it off. That was a joke but seriously, no problem painting the stucco, the problem is where do you stop painting so that it looks the same. I recommend coating the entire house with a lifetime coating system. It makes the stucco waterproof and easily washable.

Hi Jason!

No one thing, you can't apply stucco over stucco to make it look new. If you want to do that, you have to put another base coat over that and then the stucco over that again.

The easiest way to get the new look is get a good acrylic paint and go over it all. You can't just so some of it because won't blend in. You have to do the whole area on one complete side of the building to make it look all the same.

When we base coat a job we always prime the base coat with a acrylic primer the same colour almost as the finish coat and then we apply the finish stucco over the primed base coat and you don't get any bleeding of the dark base coat through the finish coat.

Thanks!
