We plan to build in stages. First stage will be ICF construction to the roofline and finish the roof. Cover ICF and window openings with water proof material. Can we fore go putting in radiant heat and concrete on 2 floors of new home and still complete the first stage? Again, this stage would include foundation work, ICF to roof line, roof, shingles, and exterior protection from weather until next stage begins?

Hi Dee, You can choose to install the radiant heat option until after the house has been brought to lock up. Contractors will do that when a house is being built in stages do to extreme weather or finance. If you plan on installing radiant heat in the basement which i strongly recommend just ensure that you leave access for the cement pumper or truck depending on your situation to allow for a proper pouring of your basement floor.

Dee it is best to seal the new construction to the weather before going further with inertior work such as heating etc. Your contractor will be able to do any nessary ajustments for the heating system to the exterior before sealing it.and should have a plan to proceed further. If you are doing the conntracting yourself, check with your heating installer before going ahead they will advise you as to what you require. As always plan one step ahead.
