I wanted to know if, I'm renovating my built-in garage ie(taking down walls, adding new recepticals, new lighting, relocating water pipe, insulating the entire garage, etc etc)
Do I need a Permit.???
and When insulating the ceiling, do I need to use a Fire rated insulation, in order to meet the building code.
You would need permits if you are relocating any load barring walls. You can do your own electrical but you should have a electrician check it. If you are going to insulate it we do spray foam insulation.
1.) You would need a permit for electrical and plumbing
2.) If your limiting distance between the property line and the walls of your garage is less than 1.2 m, you nee a fire code drywall at that wall. The ceiling you can use regular drywall 1/2"
