Can chimney be sealed from the outside?

Water coming through the bricks into the fireplace and damaging the drywall beside the fireplace. Can the chimney be sealed from the outside?

Yes chimney can be sealed , as long as it's not in use no more

Yes it can.

However, as previous mentioned - it would be advisable not to use it once sealed.

This is not an easy sealant job. The chimney may have to renew the flashing around the shingles.
