I hired a contractor to rod iron my porch as my neighbour ran into to it with her truck. The insurance company recommended him. I gave him a deposit of 1000.00 dollars in Feb 2014. It is now end of June 2014 and he still has not completed the job. He gave me a quote but I did not sign anything. I have left several msgs but he has not contacted me.
Can I fire him and hire someone else to complete the job? Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do?
Thanks
Yes you can. You just have to inform him that he has been removed from the job via registered letter.
Make sure that with the next contractor you have a contractual agreement stating exactly what the job entails and a timeline that the work is going to be completed.
Yes you can.
Make sure you send a registered letter. That way you have proof that it has been sent.
And when you hire the next contractor, make sure you have a contract. And list all work to be completed as well as a time frame for completion of same.
Hope this helps,
