Hello,

I have a wood stove I bought for my shop and I want to install it properly but for as cheap as possible. I am curious if I can sit it on patio stones and put concrete board behind it to meet WET certification standards.

Hi Chris. If you put cement board behind and patio stones underneath it sounds like it would be sufficient to me however I strongly recommend you calling your local municipality to find out what the code is for where you live. I strongly recommend you contact a trusted profire place instalator to confirm

Hi Chris

You are required to get a building permit to complete what you are describing.

Call your municipality for proper direction on application and ensure it complies to WETT certification by having it inspected.

Some home inspectors are WETT certified so they could complete your inspection.

Cheers

Dave
