I have ceiling light to install. Ceiling wires are 2 white, 2 black, one red and ground in ceiling. The light itself is one black, one white and a ground... What wire does the black wire on the fixture connect to?

Thanks

The black wire on the fixture connect to red as a return.

The 2 black wires aren't for your installation. The red wire from the ceiling will go with the black on your fixture. The 2 white wires from the ceiling will go with the white wire on your fixture. The ground wire from the ceiling will go with the ground wire on your fixture.

I'm thinking the light fixture is broke... I did that and it would not shut off. I've changed out every light in the house and never had an issue.

Thanks for the help

Its time to call an electrician, you have a couple circuits there and it looks like it may have been for a ceiling fan at one time. For just a light you must get the right power, line from switch and neutral lines hooked up, I think one of the blacks will be used if it did not work as suggested, I have seen lots of these and had same problem, you are using wrong hook-up, a previous person may have hooked circuits up incorrect as well, seen that too. It needs to be traced by the electrician, these types of things cannot be diagnosed from a picture. You need a volt meter at the minimum and electrical knowledge. Get it done right and "know" it is safe then. Cheers
