We've recently purchased a home with a central vacuum and would like to have the system removed. We haven't been able to find much information about the pros and cons of this or the type of cost we should anticipate. Any advice?

Why remove it? There is no benefit to taking it out. On the other hand, you could be losing a future selling feature. Nothing says you have to use it. I would leave it in place and forget that it is there. That would give you the biggest bang for your buck.

I agree with Raymond. Is there a reason you would like it removed?
