Chance of Asbestos in a 1982 Popcorn Ceiling?

My house is in Markham, Ontario and it was built in 1982. Is there any chance my popcorn ceiling or drywall contains asbestos? I know asbestos was banned in the late 70s, but I understand the ban did not include any product inventory that was already made and stocked, ready for use.

Hello,
It is unlikely, depending on the builder at the time
The way to knoe for sure is to test a piece at the lab and get a report.
We have done this numerous times on many houses .
Once we have the results then you can determine the next course of action.
