Hi everybody, I am doing a research on the current building rates of concrete in the greater Vancouver area and hoping you would help me with the following:
1- Price range of sand per cubic feet (or per cubic meter)
2- Price range of coarse aggregate per cubic feet (or per cubic meter)
3- Price range of concrete formwork per Sq.ft. (or per Sq.m.)
4- Price range of steel rebar per Kg
5- Price range of labor (formwork, rebar, placing, etc.)
For a concrete building with 5000 SF of floor slab area and 2-3 floors height. If such information can be found in a published material, I would highly appreciate it if you could send me the reference name/info/link. Thanks.
Hi,
I would suggest getting in contact with a few trades, and suppliers. They'll be able to evaluate your project and give you an appropriate price. The price of concrete is above average currently, in Vancouver. As for labor, there is not a single per sq ft price that will apply to all situations. You'll need to get in touch with companies that are able to provide this and get quotes from them, because each forming job is different. Concrete companies will give you a price list that will be valid until a specified date. Building material suppliers will also provide price lists for rebar, et cetera.
If you haven't already, I would get in touch with a GC or somebody experienced enough to give you a quote for the whole project. It'll definitely simplify things, and they'll be able to explain things in greater detail.
