Connecting ABS to cast iron drain?

We are planning a small remodel of our laundry area that includes installing a new sink. Right now our sink is an acrylic free standing sink and it is attached to the old cast iron drain in the basement. Before I remove the sink I'd like to know if it is possible to connect a new ABS p trap to this cast iron drain. I assume they make adapters for these types of situations. I will get a plumber to come in and professionally install the sink but I'd just like to confirm it is actually possible before I install a cabinet and cut the hole for the sink in the countertop.
