There is an app called Construction Cost Estimator. Available for laptop, ipad, or phone. It's recommended by Michael Stone author of Markup & Profit. Can be used in US and Canada only. Does anyone have experience with this app? both pros and cons?

much appreciated

I have a program (app) similar, that I purchased several years ago. It provides the basics but when it comes down to an actual estimate, you need to adjust almost everything to you job site. You need local regulations and codes. The costs of material vary greatly. Labour is subject to who you might hire and their qualifications. You have to consider transportation costs, time frames, degree of difficulty in the buildings design, weather constraints and several smaller concerns. Don't forget to include your markup for the business. If you know the basics already, don't spend your money on the app.
