Hey everyone. We're all here to improve our business. I wanted to start this and see what construction, remodeling, specialist books everyone can recommend. From the business side such as accounting, marketing, hiring, etc... And if you know of any canadian books, put CAD near the title. Also, if you don't mind giving it a star rating from 1-5. I'm looking to improve. I'm sure a lot of you are as well. So i figured this can be one way to help each other out.
Much respect
Not specifically Canadian, but available in Canada:
Markup & Profit: A Contractor's Guide by Michael C Stone.
Solid 5 stars - we've owned a copy for years and pull it out every few months for reference.
This book totally changed how we think about pricing. It's a bit data heavy in sections (you may want to get your accountant or bookkeeper involved) but is a fantastic resource for those of us who have struggled to price work to be profitable.

I've actually already ordered that book. All I hear is great things about it. Can't wait to read it.
Hi Mark, I have two DeWalt books to suggest. First is: DeWalt construction Estimating. and the second is the DFeWalt Contractor's Daily log & jobsite reference.
Enjoy.
Hi Mark
As Andre mentioned Mark-Up and Profit and also Profitable Sales are 5 out 5.
