Cost and length of time for a 2 storey home addition in Ottawa

Looking for an approximate estimate for a 2 storey addition to an older home (circa 1940) in Central Ottawa. Main floor addition will be a 4 season sunroom. The 2nd floor would be turning the main bathroom into an ensuite for the master bedroom. Beside that would be a new 2nd floor common bathroom and beside that would be a laundry closet. There would also be the creation of 2 new bedrooms of equal size. Total square footage added would be 650.
Also looking at approximate time to complete something like this.

A project like this would probably run you $ 180K +/- depending on your finishes. Once your Architect or Technologist has a good set of working drawing for you, seek out two or three contactors listed with the Better Business Bureau of Eastern Ontario, read some reviews on these Companies you have chosen and get three DETAILED Estimates on a complete job. Get these drawing done this year for your project to happen next year.

A addition to a existing home can always be a great method to increase your square footage, the best method for starting is having a design company create your idea so you can send it off for quotations.
We tend to price additions from the $180/sqft to $240/sqft range. It depends on finishes and complexity of existing home.
You could expect and project like this from initial construction phase to take 3-6weeks. I recommend using a full construction management company to provide you a start to finish turn key project. Renovations and additions can be a lot of work.
