Hi there,
I live in a side split and I want to add an extension off the side. What I want is a two story with the bottom being a garage and maybe a mud room leading into the house and the top having two bedrooms and a bathroom. Just looking for a rough idea on what I would be looking at price wise.
Thanks
Cost to build a home addition vary from $200 per square foot on the cheapest to $450 / sq. ft. or even more for custom top notch work. Accurate estimated can be provided only after analyzing architectural drawings with all technical details, calculating number of man-hours for completing the project and determining the total expenses for materials, fixtures and finishing products.
Hi James,
Do your Homework. Look at Better Business Bureau in your area and or Chamber of Commerce. Cost for this can range from $ 200 to $ 500 per sq. ft. depending on everything from soil conditions to quality of your bathroom fixtures. Advise is to start off cheap, then you can always up-grade after if you can afford it. If you start off high end, sometimes some products and fixtures can be " custom made and cannot be returned.
Check references on who you hire.
Thanks,
Tim Winges
