We are looking for approximate estimates to re-tile our Kitchen backsplash, including:
- ~30 sq feet, one outlet/switch combo to tile around
- removal of old tile, appears to be plaster/not drywall
- wall repairs prior to tiling
- ceramic tile installation (already purchased)
Only looking for cost at this time.
The price would depend on the type of tile, size and what wall repairs would need to be done. You shouldn't be paying more then $400-$500 if materialso are supplied.
Hi Mark,
I am a professional tile setter (company name Martella Tiling Services).
From your description the cost would be approximately $500 including removing old tiles.
Thanks!
Salvatore
I'd allow about 900.00 for the tile removal and drywall repair if its plaster. Plaster will be a different thickness than drywall and a mess to patch and prime, especially if the plaster strength is compromised from tile removal; we'd be better off removing the plaster substrate down to studs and shimming out and installing new drywall or tile backer board.
Install of ceramic tile, grouting, sealing and silicone would be about 900.00 for a standard size tile and about 1200.00 for more time consuming mosaic tile.
My name is Dave with True North Maintenance. The price would depend on the type of tile, size and what wall repairs would need to be done.
