There are a lot of different factors to consider. Do you have the grading for a walk out basement or do you need to excavate. What is the property like? Does it back on to another house or is it open. We have done them where they have costed anywhere from $3500 to $25000.

There is a lot of factors should be taken on such project. You have to get a city permit as well. Roughly speaking the cost would be in the range of $15k - $20k

With a poured reinforced stairwell and poured steps along with a standard cutout the cost should be no more than $15K!

I have similar question: I am thinking about making separate entrance to basement for townhouse in DownTown Toronto. I want to make them at backyard in the corners as shown. My worry is that that my property is close to others's property.

It depends on a few factors eg: do you need permission from a coorperation, Access to backyard etc. An average entrance can cost anywhere from $3000 to $ 25000 + permit
