Hi,
My new house is in Toronto - I have two-car parking at the back of my house off a laneway, and would like to know how much it would cost to build a simple carport (wooden beams with a corrugated metal roof?) with concrete flooring.
How long does it also take to complete this?
Thank you,
Larry
Hi Larry,
We are based in Vancouver so the any pricing I give you would not be relevant. I would suggest you inquire with your local City Hall to see if you would get a permit for something like this. You may also want to speak with the Builder who just built your house. He may be a great resource for your project.
Good luck.
Hi Larry,
Its far too hard for anyone to give you an accurate price on work unless we are there to factor in all of the variables that the job entails.
You will need a permit if the structure is attached to the dwelling, or greater than 108 sq ft in size.
As a homeowner, you can get the permit yourself for about $200. For a contractor to do it, you are looking at $1200 plus.
I think a good starting point for budgeting purposes would be $20/sq ft and up.
Hope this helps.
