Cost to add a second storey to our bungalow

Our bungalow is approx. 1200 square feet. It is presently vinyl sided. We are thinking to add a second storey to include 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Would first like to get an idea of cost to build. We would like all framing, windows, plumbing, electrical, drywall (ready to paint - we will paint), all flooring.

Hi Rick,
I have done many second storeys through the years.
There are more to things to consider, these are examples, Zoning, structure, HVAC, electrical, plumbing. Is the existing house have to be upgraded. Also to make your new second storey match your existing bungalow so it has curb appeal.
There is a a range to consider on pricing, if you don`t have to upgrade the above, your pricing would be around the $180,000 plus. If you do, the cost could rise to over $230,000

Cost to build a home addition vary from $200 per square foot on the cheapest end to $450 / sq. ft. or even more for custom top notch work. Accurate estimated can be provided only after analyzing architectural drawings with all technical details, calculating number of man-hours for completing the project and determining the total expenses for materials, fixtures and finishing products.

To be fair a very poor description of what's needed. Roof removal and disposal major plans required. Would estimate approx 250k to complete.

It would be around $250K in the Ontario market depending on how you want it finished and what kind of fixtures you go with.
