The cost per square foot for a shop is about $7.00 - $7.50 per square foot. If you are doing the labour yourself you can probably save on this to some degree but if your like me some things I am good at but other things I am better to use a professional.

Engineered truss roof with a 4/12 pitch, (you might need 6/12 with snow load in your zone), concrete floating slab floor, 2x6 framed pink insulation, vinyl siding, one garage single door, windows on three sides, large front door with a small gabled roof to cover. 60amp panel in garage running from the house main underground approx 75 feet gas line from house for furnace. Furnace was free - mid efficiency neighbour upgraded donated furnace. We built one two years ago for a client final cost of $36k.
