Hi there,

Regarding to added the suite bathroom. It depends from which side will added? Or, it is closed now and you will change it to bathroom?

Please if possible, post some pictures with details to be more clear and I'll give you right answer.

Regards,

Leo

You should consider the costs to start at $300 per sq.ft. and work up from there depending on quality and the finishes.

Hi Stan,

Depending on many factors that will effect the cost, you can be prepared for 300.00 per sq' to start.

The cost can go as high as 380.00 to 400.00 per sq' fairly easily if you and your family are looking for high end finishes. Your landscaping is another cost all together. Wether you are looking for spa, pool, waterfall, pond, flagstone walks, patio.

If you give us a street location for the project I can also judge access and level of finishings in the surounding area.

Hello Stan,

It looks like new home costs are pretty standard right across the country. In Vancouver, we start talking budgets around $300 per sqft. A lot depends on your neighbourhood. It's important to build to the level of the area. I home owner who builds a very cheap house in a premium area will have trouble selling it later on. Your local Design Builder will be a great asset to explain the best way to approach this question. Rely on his expertise.

Good luck with your project.

Depending on what type of house you are building either 2 storey or bungalow and the exterior and interior finishes you would like to have the prices varies. Considering just the house without landscaping it would range between $200-$300 per square foot. You still have to consider all the soft cost to it like permits, drawings and servicing if the lot is not serviced yet.
