I received a quote for $4400 to supply and install 9 smoke/strobe detectors. This is a renovation. Does that sound reasonable?
Your question is very vague. Is this a home or a commercial installation. If this is a commercial system, I'm assuming a fire alarm panel is also being installed with the requirements that BX or conduit is required in which case the price would sound reasonable.
If this is a home the cost sounds somewhat high, but I do not know the circumstances around this situation. Again if an alarm or fire alarm control panel must be installed and this is a large home, than yes the price sounds within reason.
Hope this has helped.
There are too many variables to determine if that is a reasonable price from just what you posted. If you are doing a one-for-one yes then I would say it is too much. If it is a new install where you need to set up special ladders / scaffolding, run cables through restricted areas or over extremely long distances, need to use special wire or installation methods, etc then I would say it is a deal and pass along their number to me.
