Cost to renovate small bathroom

What would it cost to pay someone to gut a 4 by 8 foot bathroom built in 1958 to have it up to code on a small budget. I dont think they had mold and mildew resistant chip rock back then.

Any where from $4000 to $35000 depending on what tiles, fixtures and finishes u use.

Curious as to estimate only on labour costs to gut and install whatever materials I buy.

For labour only you would be looking at $3000 to $3500. That is if you don't change the layout as plumbers are expensive. You can get away with as much in material if there isn't any unforeseen expenses like asbestos, mold and rotted plumbing or flooring.

You would say $4000 - $5000 labor and building materials
