I just got a bill to replace all my sewer drain pipes in my crawlspace. Two people were here 3.5 hours and with parts was $1400. Is this fair?
I could see scratches and changes on the bill to go from one part to 2 in trying to meet the quote he quoted my wife.
Hi Danny, To quote you directly " meet the quote he quoted my wife." It sounds like you agreed to the price before hand and now are having second thoughts. If that is the case it doesn't matter if it is high or not.
I know that I have days where everything goes amazingly well (not enough of them though) and I finish things in 1/2 the time I expected or quoted. I would be pretty upset if someone tried to penalize me for being efficient.
Just my 2 cents FWIW.

Well...a plumber charges $100/hr. And materials with the 40% markup...and working in a crawl space really sucks so ya, you got a bargain!
If you don't like paying a professional become a tradesman, after 6 years of learning on the job and school you can do it yourself and make a great living.
Cheers!
Sorry Danny but the guys are right. Many times 2 guys for 3.5 hours plus parts seems high but you forget the 2 hours they spent picking up the material transporting to your house and the experience. They may have only been there 3.5 hours but realistically there whole day is now shot, not enough time to go do the job some where else.
