What would an approx. cost be to do rough in for kitchen and bathroom and laundry room in a basement that is already finished? There is currently one kitchen and bathroom there, but I want to put a new kit and bath on the opposite side the basement.
And can it be done without tearing up too much of the existing ceramic floor? One guy told me that he'd have to dig a trench all the way across the basement (tearing up the existing ceramic flooring), but another guy said that he thinks plumbers have some type of snake camera's that they use to locate the actual drain and then they can just cut down into it, resulting in just a hole being made in the locations where the drains will be as opposed to trenching across the basement floor.
I'm female, I live alone and I have no knowledge of this stuff at all so I'm at the mercy of other people. I would sincerely appreciate any feedback from knowledgeable people here.
Only looking for rough costs at this time.
Max;
You could definately send a camera down a drain to see where it crosses paths to where you want your new kitchen and bath. I do not think you would have to dig up your whole floor. If you did have to dig some out, it sounds like a big job, but its not, its relatively inexpensive as well. As far as laundry, the will depend on where the fuse panel is located as you need to run 220 to it. It is almost impossible to guestimate the cost of this, but you could call two to three plumbers and electricians in and in less than 30 min each they could give you budgetary figures. I am sorry I could not be of more help. Even if you could post on here the distance from existing drains to new drains and existing panel to new dryer locations, we could get you a safe budget to carry...sort of a worst case scenario. Good luck!!!
