Covering an Electrical Panel

Our electrical panels are on the wall in my bedroom. We would like to cover them with something easily removeable but looks nice. Are we allowed in BC to do that? for example a canvas picture? Thank you

Hi Jan

I'm in Ontario, but I believe a lot of codes are similar. As long as you have 3' in front of panel for access you are good. A picture could be lifted off so all should be good

there is no reason why a non-fixed item can't be enclosing your panel... As long as there are no holes or missing fuses or breakers to prevent any fires from happening, you're fine with curtains, wood, pictures, etc.
