Hello

Can Anyone help me here I'm buiding my own deck and it has about 28 ft of area that we are wanting to out privacy screens from deckboards to the top (about 80") I have used the trex transcend railings for the rest of the deck and cladded the posts for the "privacy walls in them also. What can I do to pass OBC without building a guard that I dont want there as there will be an outdoor kitchen along the first 14'.

Hey Jeff,

You can make any sort of barrier that is not climbable or a 3.5" object can fit through. I have done lattice in these scenarios in the past or decorative screen details. Essentially what you are doing is building a fence on your deck. OBC will allow you to do this in place of a guard as long as the above mentioned items are follow, not climbable and no space greater than 3.5" between boards, pickets, posts and so on. If you need more clarity on this give me a shout 613-618-9121
