I have been offered a job that includes a broken sewer line draining into the area under the floor in two rooms causing the wood in the floors to soften and swell. The job I have been offered is to move all furniture to another location in the house (2 arcade machines etc) and tear up the floors in the two rooms and dispose of them in a customer supplied garbage bin.my question is this...what is a fair price to charge for this job? I have never been given a job like this and have no idea where to start with billing. My plumber friend who is in charge of the plumbing involved said 2500 but this seems a bit too high to me...any thoughts on fair pricing?
Hi Matt
Not much Info. $ 2500 seems to be a very low
fair price. How much time will it take you to remove all the furniture , than remove all the damaged flooring. Is this in a basement?
is there concrete involved. replace the sewer
line than repair or replace all the damaged wood framing and " Matching " flooring. Than
move all the furniture back. This all adds up pretty quick. Your probably looking at something around $ 3300 there could be many
problems unseen under that floor. ??
Good luck
I would agree with Tim. Little more info on the size of rooms and is it a crawl space or wood timbers Built onto concrete floor
I guess the question is how are the bedroom walls built? are the rotted as well? How are going to remove them? Can you support them from the joist above ?
This job sounds more like a cost plus style. You should work out an hourly rate this way you and the customer won't be put in a bad spot when unforeseen items come up
