Hi folks,
We will be renovating our home and want to get rid of our old furniture, appliances, electronics, etc., so after a lot of research, I found one disposal service on Google. Here is their official site: https://www.junk-works.ca/services/items-we-take/furniture does anyone have past experience with them? Before confirming that, I have a few doubts in my mind. What are the things that I should consider when hiring a disposal service? Are there any tips you can give for hiring a disposal service?
I'm nowhere near you, but I have found those collection services to be quite expensive. This is my experience in buying a furnished house (that I kept about 15% of):
1. There is a medical foundation here that COMES to collect working/quality furniture. Careful though cause they may reject some stuff and will leave you having to find other solutions
2. We have places that you can dump stuff or places that will accept donations
3. The one thing I hoped I had done is rent a container and dump all my stuff in there for them to collect back after I'm done. My assumption is that this would still be much cheaper than hiring people like junk-works or got-junk to come pick up a bunch of stuff.
The only downside (a true one) for #3 is that you have to carry it yourself or have people to help hoist it in.
It's always cheaper to do it yourself though. But it's also always slower to do it yourself.
you can call charity or used building goods suppliers, if the items are minty and not 30 years old they may take otherwise best option is rent a large disposal bin delivered to yuor driveway $350 and chuck it all
