Do I need to use pressure treated furring strip to drywall my garage?

Hi,

I just bought a house and the only the walls along the house were finished with drywall. The other walls are insulated and I would like to add a vapour barrier (I'm in Canada) and drywall. I'm wondering if the furring strips (2x2x8) have to be pressure treated. Only the bottom one would be in contact with concrete (and just a little bit, as it's running along the concrete but there's only about a half inch overlap). As far as I can tell the studs aren't pressure treated (the stamp says it's heat treated wood).

Thanks!

Pressure treated strapping would not be required to drywall the garage.

No you don't need to use pressure treated furring strips to drywall a garage.
