Does a contractor have to allow the customer to see the invoices from the dumpster supply company. It is clearly written on the contract that the builder is not responsible for any of the dumpster fees and all fees will be billed directly to the customer by the contractor. The customer is now asking for the actual receipts from the dumpster company as they total over $8,000.00
what you stated in your contract mean either the customer will take care of this on his own or you will help him with the service but he has to pay directly to the vendor based on the vendor invoice and not your invoice
Yes, the Customer must see the Invoices from the dumpster Company in order to pay them. If it states in the contract that the Contractor is not responsible for this fee then the Customer is only responsible to pay what is written on the Invoice. The Contractor, as it is written can not profit off this part of the contract.
Yes,
Your contract states the contractor is not responsible for the dumpster fees. The client is. If so the client must be presented with all the invoices they are being billed for.
Yes most definitely the contractor must show you the invoices if he wants you to pay for them plain and simple.
I would have billed out the debris removal more frequently to prevent such a large bill. The homeowner shoud atleast see the dump fees. Most debris removal companys around here make money on the tipping fees, and bin rentals. The dump fees based on weight shouldn't have any markup on them in our area at least.
So in other words, show on your invoice:
100 days bin rental @$5 per day $500.00
17 pick up/drop offs (tipping fees) @170 ea. $5780.00
17 tonns of construction waste @$100 per ton $1700
Subtotal $7980.00
+GST
And yes I would show dump receipts.
Don't pay that until you see the receipts. A small markup by the contractor is legitamate but mor than 10% is rediculous on dumping.
In our experience we have always provided invoices when requested
However we do charge a small management fee over the costs in order to cover our bookkeeping and outlay
Most often it is fone so the invoices go directly to the client and we provide the service of ordering the bins and scheduling pick ups
Hope this answer helped.
Thanks
