Hi everyone,

I'd like to know the rough cost to build a detached garage (such as 24*24). And how long would it take? I want it just simple with basic function.

Thanks in advance!

A simple unheated 2 x 6 x 8 framed with siding

one side door and one small window and one large garage door with opener, one plug inside and one out and one light inside and one out, would probably run you between $ 30 and $ 40K .

Depends on soil samples ,location, and distance from house. Could be less , could be more. Shop around do your research .

Count on 48-55/square foot.

The cost of this would be roughly $16,000- $19,000.

Sorry forgot to add timeline which would be roughly 3 days for pad and then week to cure and then a week to build.

A very basic way to estimate the cost of building a detached garage is to simply apply a typical average per square foot construction of $50 - $80. If there are complications or you prefer top quality materials and components the price can easily will go up. This can serve as a very rough basis. Custom construction of a new garage can't be estimated per square foot or as an average. Everything will depend on the materials prices and labor expenses. Installation of cement siding and a slate roof might double the cost in comparison with vinyl siding and an asphalt shingles roof. If it is an attached garage and house design will require matching in style, costs of construction will increase as well.

Such project will take about 3 weeks!
