Exterior Siding

Hi there.
I am in the process of redoing the exterior of my home.
On the exterior of my home above the garage, garage window, front entrance door, and basement window is a header that is done in board and batten siding.
We are trying to do a more modern look on the outside. I do not want this in board and batten, I've asked about trimming it with trim coil but the contractor said it would look wavy, and because the garage is 17' wide it would need 2 pieces.
Any ideas??? The one image is our home, the second is what we are doing.

Longboard siding, very pricey but good
LUX architectural panel, good product and reasonable price.
MAC Metal Architectural siding, also good product and reasonable cost
