Hi there,

I was wondering if you can tell me if weeping tile is required in home foundation?

And how can you tell if you have a weeping tile problem?

Maybe some locations don't require one, but I would always put one in. It's cheap insurance for a dry basement. If you have water leaking in your basement, you might have a weeping tile problem.

A foundation water proofing contractor or a plumber with a camera might be able to help you diagnose your problem.

Yes weeping tiles or Big-O is defiently a must. Now if you have a leak in your basement it could be your weeping system but also could be a crack. Either way you have to dig down to the footing and re-seal your foundation.

And because your digging down to your footing you can check your weeping system and replace if needed.
