I have a new construction house im in the process of building . It seems the drawing has not left me much headroom for the stairs going to the basement . Its a 2 x 10 floor system and 8 foot concrete basement. The code book says stairs that are located under beams and ducting in secondary suites shall not be less then 1850mm. Is this still true ? I always thought the minimum was 80 .

I believe the minium height in Ontario is 80", maybe it is different in your province or the rule changes because it is going down to an unfinished basement
