I'm trying to find a light fixture for my bathroom. I want to replace an old 48 inch light bar, but the electrical connection was at the end of the fixture and the connection in the wall is almost in the corner of my wall. Do they sell 48 inch bathroom vanity lights with the connections at the end, instead of in the middle of the unit? Where would I find one? I just want to replace the fixture and don't want to have to rewire my bathroom. Help?
Hi Dan,
Most of the vanity lights has connection box in the middle however I am sure there are few types that can be feeded from the side too.
Regard
H Dan.
You are going to limit your selection with trying to find a fixture with connections at the end. As stated, most fixtures are configured for middle connection. Track lighting is the most versatile, in being able to move the connection anywhere along the track. Although, you may not have to rewire, but you will need to open up the wall to see where the wire is located and how it enters the wall. If there is enough wire you can move it to the centre. If you find it's coming from the ceiling, you may be able to move it by drilling through the top plate and moving it to the location you want. Of course thi will mean drywall repair and painting, which you may have to do once you remove the old fixture.
Good luck.
