Aproximate price to have house rewired. 1350 square feet. Built in 1970. Live in BC, Canada.
Sometimes a circuit goes if we have too much running. Not often - but it happens.
Maybe have a Licensed electrician come in and have a look first. See if adding a circuit or separating things from existing circuits can save the day before a full on rewire.
Hey Erin,
Rewire can be very costly and on top of that you will have drywall repair and painting.
The upside if you rewire is that you get the piece of mind that it's the latest and greatest technology when it comes to breakers wire pot lights etc etc.
But to save your some speculation on what to do Call a licensed electrician have him go through your house and ask him what he see and to write down pro and cons for you for both solutions that way it's on paper and easier to understand and get a few estimates for both solutions and go from there.
Good luck Erin!
Hi Erin,
I would recommend to invite certified electrician to measure current load on each breakers and then decide what is a cheaper way to reduce the current load on the breakers. Replacement wiring is not a cheapest option.
Good luck Erin!
Probably could count on $1000-$1500 per room (kitchen greatly more) +/-... but drywall repairs and repainting will be added onto that price. Why do you want to remove aluminum? If it is original and has not been tampered with, it is probably still in good condition.
You would be in the area of $4500.
