Home Insurance company asked me for the Amps for electricity in home. I have no idea how to find out. My house was built in 1989 and I believe that electric panel was never replaced. House is in Brampton.
post a photo of the panel and the bigger main breaker and we can help. There should be a note of 100amps, 125amps, 150amps, or 200amps. more than likely it is 100amps
The main breaker on your panel will be labeled. Typically 60A,100A,200A
Hi there,
You should be able to tell my looking on the name plate on the panel. It should be either a 60 Amp or 100 Amp. Also, it should say on the main breaker for the panel located near the top of the panel.
Look at Main Breaker on your electrical panel. It must be labeled. Usually it 60A, 100A, 125A, 150A or 200A.

By the sounds of it you still have a glass fuse panel. Typically there should be a sticker (name plate) it will show your volts and amps. If its a breaker panel there should be a bigger breaker off to the side separate from the main cluster of all the other breakers and it should be indicated on the breaker what your amperage is. But the most common size is 100a. Side note I've heard that some insurance companies will charge a higher premium if you have a fuse panel versus a breaker panel. I hope this helps.
Have a good day
