I'm looking to become an apprentice for an electrician, I'm a hard worker and willing to learn the skills, please feel free to contact me at anytime. Thank You.
First you have to get an electrical contractor who is willing to hire you and train you. Then you work together and register to the college of trade
Ashton,
Getting an apprenticeship is extremely competitive; We get applicants every week. Part of the problem is that the journeyperson-to-apprentice ratio is so low. This means electrical contractors have to either hire another journeyperson or wait until an existing apprentice becomes a journeyperson before taking on another apprentice.
So what can you do?
1. consider all the trades. Have a backup plan A, B and so forth. Apply to any construction company. Be a labourer. Get your foot in the construction door.
2. Do not expect to be hired quickly. Be in this for the long haul.
3. Apply to a specific company. The chances of getting hired from a site this list, or zip recruiter, etc is quite low. Prove that you know something about this company (what do they do, how long in business, how many staff, name of owner, etc). Be informed. And don't email your resume; they never get read. Hand deliver. Meet the one who hires. Hold a conversation.
4. Network. Make friends with people who already are apprentices.
5. Prove you are worth hiring. In other words you should already have a job. Employers want to see longevity, roles of responsibility, communication skills, technology skills, decision making, working independently.
Good luck and don't give up! Don't let yourself get discouraged. It's worth the fight.
