How long should I continue to wait for a quote? Contractors said 1 week but it's been almost 2. Followed up by sending messages but no responses. Spring is a busy season but if you want our business you owe us the courtesy of a prompt reply.
If there is no response, don't keep on waiting, just get another quotation.
If not delivered within 1 week, that is showing the hall consept of the future work.
1 week seems like a reasonable amount of time to wait for a quote. Being busy should not be an issue. It truly is hard to find hard working honest and respectable contractors these days. Hope you find a good contractor
Speaking as a licensed contractor for all of Alberta u never make my possible new clients wait more than 3 days and if I need more time I text, email and call them to let them know why and when I will have there quote to them.
I am so sorry that some of our contractors just dont care
If the contractor is not responding that is a bad sign I usually make contact and set a date and time to meet then follow through if anything sometimes I may switch the appointment a day or so
Said contractor should reply and let you know if maybe he has been to busy tying up jobs. Sounds like he is just avoiding you. You also always can shop aroind until you sign a contract.
This just shows the type of company they run!!! Forget about them and go to the next.
Hi Karen,
I respond to my clients who call my phone immediately. If they contact me via text message, I usually respond within the hour, if they send me an email, I respond within 24 hours.
I, nor any contractor, should take more than 1-2 days to get back to you once you approve their quote. If you're waiting on a contractor to give you a quote, I would suggest giving them 1-2 weeks depending on the job, to get the numbers back to you.
I hope this helps.

One week is too long. What is it you are looking for?
It depends, we have to pay attention to every details. So it can take a day or a few weeks. All depends on how busy they are.
Hi Karen
For most all jobs, you should be getting at least 3 Estimates. Don't let it always be about the cost. With three Estimates you will get three different ideas and opinions on exactly how the job will be done. ( Go with
your gut feeling ) Most Contractors say about a week , but actually on average it's more like two weeks.( Especially at this time of year) Be patient and give him
3 weeks only if you do not get another one before that.
It's all depend Karen? If the job is big and need to get some prices from other trades that for sure will take longer than a week. However, if he is not responding it's another story and not recommending to keep following up with him as this is a very bad indication on what his attitude will look like if he get the job
Hi Karen,
Other than a contractor requesting a submission extension, you should only wait until the date they said it would be submitted by.
The fact you have reached out & had no success in contacting your contractor...tells the story. Count your blessings because this is not a contractor you want to deal with despite all the excuses they would throw at you! Unprofessional...bottom line!
You should NEVER need to chase a contractor for anything...EVER.
Best of luck....
