We have open concept kitchen/living area. Kitchen has white cabinets with darker blue island. Floors are dark brown hardwood. Colour scheme in home is white, dark blue, and beige. I have space for a server/buffet and table and chairs/bench in kitchen. Should the buffet and table be white or dark wood? Or could these be a lighter tone wood or a grey tone wood? Or maybe even barn wood look even though everything is modern clean lines?

I would have to see photo's from all angles to give you a decent opinion.

I would do the main structure white and table top and seating dark wood. It would compliment the floor and NOT steel the thunder of the island.

Hey Elan, it really depends on the wall colours and personal preference. That being said, if the walls in the area you are placing the buffet and table are light in colour, dark furniture would be a good choice and conversely for dark walls use light furniture.
